I remember when I began researching this material. It took years to finally get a copy of the Letter of Understanding. It was a very frustrating experience.

When I finally found a healthcare facility that had one of these documents known to be approved by Watchtower for use by JWs, I was sent through the proverbial ringer with questions about why I wanted the form document. I finally asked the institutional contact whether she had affiliation with Watchtower because of hesitancy to share a document that should be freely available to anyone who asks. I finally received the form document with a lame explanation about why I was plied with questions about my request. I never received an answer to whether the institutional staff member had affiliation with Watchtower. But I finally did receive the document, which I was thankful for.

Among Watchtower's more diabolical deceptions is how it presents information to children for their consumption. It teaches JW children to believe something that is demonstrably misleading about healthcare choices and even gives these children a printed cheat-sheet on the exact lie they should tell. Pregnant women refuses blood

a 28-year-old woman and her unborn child have died because of the womans decision not to accept a lifesaving blood transfusion.. doctors at the royal hospital for women and prince of wales hospital in randwick, sydney, australia, have described the harrowing effect on hospital staff of two otherwise avoidable deaths.. the woman, a jehovahs witness, was seven months into her pregnancy when it was discovered she had leukaemia.. amy corderoy, health editor, reporting in the sydney morning herald states,.

more than 80% of pregnant women suffering from the cancer, called acute promyelocytic leukaemia, will go into remission with proper treatment, and the outlook for their babies is good.. .

This is the kind of publicity the Watchtower organization hoped to avoid with its move to relax its blood taboo in year 2000. But in this case Watchtower's change didn't help because this JW refused anything and everything extracted from blood that might have otherwise helped save her life and that of her unborn fetus. According to the published article in Internal Medicine Journal, "The patient was a Jehovah’s Witness with an advanced care directive refusing the transfusion of red cells, white cells, platelets or plasma, and all minor fractions including albumin, immunoglobulins and clotting factors."

I've been in the room more than a few times when JWs died over this god-damned teaching. Watchtower's Governing Body members, and all those who support this particular doctrinal position are guilty of crimes against humanity insofar as I'm concerned. I know what they're doing, and so do they.

The mathematical probability of spontaneous order (no designer/creator)

there seem to be many prerequisites for life as we know it.. to name a few: order, function, compatibility, availability, sustainability, intelligence, consciousness, intuition and so on.. focusing on only one, namely order.. what are the chances of order arising spontaneously, by chance, with no creator/designer?.

i have often pondered this and recently came across a mathematical summary of the big picture:.

if every particle in the known physical universe (10^80 particles), participated in one trillion interactions (10^12 interactions) per second, for the entire 30 billion years of the universe's existence (10^18 seconds), then we would by now have covered only 10^110 permutations.. if you had only 100 components in a container, what are the chances that a blindfolded person could lay them out in order on a table?.

What are the chances of order arising spontaneously, by chance, with no creator/designer?
What are the chances of someone in particular winning the multi-million dollar lottery? Astronomically small.
What are the chances that someone will win the multi-million dollar lottery? 100 percent.

Ok two nuts and a cock, I can see that, but they are neither subliminal nor demonic images, just an artist having a laugh.

Look up subliminal. The imagery in question functions as a teaching though under the threshold of consciousness of the average person. But once you see it, it's an 800-lb gorilla.

I don't buy into most of these subliminal image notions, but there is no doubt in my mind that some Watchtower artist had one hell of a good laugh producing this: Watchtower’s Sexual Subliminal

it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.

they take pride in obedience.

When reading the context how can it possibly be, that you eat "inadvertently" an already dead animal or one torn by wild beasts? The elders had to admit, that this is not the case in Lev. 17:15.
But of course they can't agree with a view that goes contrary to what the org is saying.
I showed this reasoning to some close jw friends and also my parents.
The reaction is, that they really start to think and also to question the blood doctrine.

This is why Watchtower so heavily indoctrinates JWs to avoid independent thought and studied opposition.

If you listen you start thinking. When you start thinking you start seeing holes. When you see holes you wonder why you let holed-thinking place you and your children's lives at stake when transfusion of donor blood could help prevent premature death.

What am I saying? I'm saying any fact, factual question or rational concept shared that helps a person think (in this case JWs) helps improve that person's life.

What I like about this presentation by Crofty is that it offers a non-threatening piece of information that is something the average JW has never thought of and it might just cause them to think.

Come 'on; Let's be real - people have died because of their JW beliefs. There is no justification for letting people die. This is not an academic debate - this means life and death for more than a few people.

AMEN to THAT!!!

A real frustration is how Watchtower waffles on propositions.

When speaking of baptism as a symbol of dedication Watchtower says, "Being a symbol of something else, it obviously is not as important as what it symbolizes". (See Blood as important as life? )

Yet Watchtower doctrine treats a supposed symbol of life (blood) as an equal to life by insisting JWs should rather die than let this supposed symbol of life be transfused in attempt to prevent their premature death.

Either a symbol of something is as important as what it symbolizes or it is not. It's irrational to assert each.
